Last day in Washington was last Wednesday. Took some pictures around the lobby at Hotel Murano. Then had a quick coffee with Sean at Cutters Point before catching my evening flight. A memorable first trip to the PNW. I look forward to coming back soon.

The Flanishop was an intense all-day photography workshop last week, hosted by Sean Flanigan. Many would describe Sean’s work as honest. His workshop was very much the same. So much was covered, everything from better understanding yourself, conquering your fears, realizing your gift, sharing that gift, to never hesitating to do your best in what you want to do. We also had a guest presentation by Heather Gilson, who is a photographer that truly knows how to make unique work for herself; very artistic and eye opening. On top of this, all of the fellow attendees were ridiculously talented photographers as well. It was quite the group.

Layered on top of these moments and lessons of clarity was an extensive dosage of live shooting demos around town. We had the lovely help of Julie and Andy as our couple for the day. You may recognize them from Sean’s earlier work. Towards the end of the day we took a deep look at Sean’s post processing workflow, the Photoshop magic so to speak. If you’ve ever wanted to get schooled by the FlanMan, this was it. The workshop was nothing short of intense, and ten times as inspiring. Getting the opportunity to meet Sean was great, he was very down to earth and open to any questions. The eventful day wrapped up at the Asian Dining Lounge, Indochine, where we lavished in yummies and shared our final stories of the night. I’m thankful to have been part of this first installment and I couldn’t be happier with it being my first workshop as well. Cheers to an amazing day!
